A Real Christmas Story
Early this afternoon, Dianne Munson, Executive Director of the Good Samaritans of Charlotte County received a call from Tammy Beck, General Manager of Harpoon Harry’s, saying that Ron Evans of Smuggler’s Enterprises had donated coins that he had accumulated over the year and that other employees added their pocket change to fill a bottle for a truly needy family. Ron had filled a large bottle with an estimated $200-$300 in coins and paper money. He has been donating this to local needy families for years.
The Good Samaritans received the bottle, knew of a very needy family and was able to make contact with them later this afternoon. The Fabio Lopez family lives in a mobile home in the back of a lot deep in the Charlotte Ranchettes. They have an eight month old baby, eight year old son and a ten year old daughter. Earlier the Lopez truck broke down and they were unable to make it to the Good Samaritans on Taylor Road for their Christmas dinner and toys for the kids. We contacted Patty Lopez and managed to arrange a get together with her husband that they will never forget. They thought we were bringing them food and toys. The 10 year old also received a beautiful Mermaid Barbie doll.
Look at the attached picture and you will see some very happy people! Dianne enjoyed the moment just as much as Fabio.
Merry Christmas to all!!!!
