Foundation was established in 2008 in partnership with the Charlotte Community Foundation to oversee the company’s philanthropic efforts. Smuggler’s donates .005 percent of annual sales to the foundation, and more than 75 percent of its employees also contribute each year.

‘We have a commitment to Charlotte County,’ Mr. Evans says. ‘We think it’s the right thing to do. We try to focus on children and education and other community necessities.’

Indeed, the foundation has donated more than $126,000 to dozens of charities since it began, including the Center for Abuse & Rape Emergencies, the Charlotte Foundation for Prevention of Hunger and Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte County.”
