Charlotte Community Foundation and Smugglers Foundation Matching Fund Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Literacy Initiative!

Who?

Smuggler’s Enterprises Inc Foundation and Charlotte Community Foundation have partnered with Charlotte County Public Schools in providing all 155 K-2 Educators with classroom leveled libraries.

What?

Classroom leveled libraries will be used daily during students’ 90 minute independent reading sessions. The books contain a variety of both fiction and nonfiction books. This provides students the opportunity to practice key reading strategies using leveled text at their independent reading levels with books they will enjoy.

15,500 books will be distributed benefitting nearly 3,000 CCPS K-2 Students!

How?

Thanks to Smuggler’s Enterprises Inc Foundation $20,000 matching funds donation along with CCF’s $20,000 matching funds donation, every donation up to the first $40,000 will be matched Dollar-for-Dollar.

Example: $250 becomes $500, $500 becomes $1,000, etc.
